IF Opticow is a mineral mixture supplemented Whiteh live yeasts.
High-yielding dairy cattle that need to perform demand a perfectly composed ration. Part of this ration comes from roughage, which of course has to be supplemented with vitamins, minerals and trace elements. Indufarm supplies a complete range of vitamins, minerals and trace elements mixtures for dairy cattle under the name IF Viminol. This range of Viminol largely determines cow health and production levels as well as the fertility of your dairy herd. These have been formulated by a team of nutritionists, veterinarian and dairy farm specialists who know the needs of modern dairy farming.
IF Opticow is a mineral mix with live yeasts. Feeding live yeasts helps dairy cattle to increase the digestibility of the ration and thus make more efficient use of the ration.
With a lower pH in the rumen, lactic acid bacteria take over and the amount of lactic acid in the rumen can increase, increasing the risk of rumen acidification. Live yeasts stimulate lactic acid-degrading bacteria, which break down lactic acid to propionic acid. This prevents the rumen pH from dropping further and prevents rumen acidification. Live yeasts ensure optimal growth conditions for the desired rumen flora by consuming remaining oxygen. As a result, fibre-degrading bacteria are stimulated, allowing the cow to utilise more nutrients. Also during ration changes or stress conditions (heat stress), live yeast ensures more stable rumen flora and thus more stable production.
As a result, the use of live yeast leads to a lower risk of rumen acidification and fewer non-digested particles in the manure. Moreover, in this mineral mix we use soya as a high-quality carrier instead of e.g. chalk. This makes for a very palatable product, and in addition, the rumen-fermentable protein in this soya helps to stimulate rumen activity, making the fibre fraction even more utilisable.
In addition, Opticow contains a high proportion of vitamin E and trace elements to support the immune system and resistance during stress conditions. The high proportion of vitamin E and zinc will protect the intestinal barrier under stress conditions, helping to prevent intestinal damage.
