Boliflash Phospho brings blood phosphorus levels well above the subclinical threshold for phosphorus deficiency thanks to the effervescent effect of the 1st bolus. The 2nd bolus supports maintaining this blood level for several hours. This gives the cow enough time to self-regulate her phosphorus blood level.

Due to the high milk production at the beginning of lactation, the phosphorus requirement is greatest here. At the end of a lactation, the cow can replenish the phosphorus reserves used. An optimal dry matter intake, with good rumination activity, is important. The better the rumination activity, the more favorable it is for phosphorus recycling in the body. Saliva contains a lot of phosphorus and ensures that it flows back into the rumen. Optimal rumination activity means more phosphorus recycling in the body. This has positive consequences for the P requirement.
A cow uses about 1/3 of the phosphorus needed for maintenance. The rest is excreted through milk production. When a cow excretes more phosphorus through the milk than she takes in, she uses her limited bone reserves to compensate for the deficiencies. It is therefore always good to pay attention to the phosphorus content.
